Company Background Brother UK markets a diverse range of products comprising printers, fax machines, all-in-ones, laminators, electronic labelling machines, typewriters and both domestic and industrial sewing machines. Founded in Nagoya, Japan in 1934, the company has been a force in technology manufacturing for more than 75 years. Brother currently employs around 240 people at Brother UK and 115 people at Brother International Europe, both based in Manchester, plus a further 250 at its production plant in Ruabon.
Electronic Labelling Machines and Laminators Since its introduction in 1988, the Brother range of electronic labelling machines has grown to offer a wide range of options - everything from a handheld, battery operated model, to a PC connectable unit with a full size QWERTY keyboard - producing waterproof, scratchproof and heat resistant labels or even barcodes. Logos, images and text can all be positioned onto one label. The flexibility of P-touch systems enable hardwearing labels to be used for a wide variety of applications ranging from warehousing, distribution, engineering and manufacturing to gardening, schools and libraries. Brother's cool laminators can handle documents from A3 down to business card size items.
