Envelopes that stack up on an environmental level The focus on the environment is ever increasing. It is no longer something that companies can just play lip service to; it's a real problem that needs to be addressed so finding an envelope that stacks up on an environmental level has never been more important.
New Guardian Heavyweight manilla, Plus Fabric Prestige white and Basildon Bond 100% recycled envelopes all offer an environmentally friendly choice.
Which is the right Envelope for you ?
Basildon Bond 100% recycled paper envelopes were launched in 2007 in response to growing demand for recycled products. This range of envelopes uses 100% recycled paper and yet delivers the quality you would expect from Basildon Bond, there is now no need to sacrifice a quality appearance for the sake of a green alternative.
Available in white and manilla, the white envelopes all use a 100gsm paper that is exceptionally smooth and white, and the manilla use 90gsm paper. In addition the window film is 100% biodegradable, made from corn which means it can go in with the recycling waste. For more information visit www.basildonbond.com

The opinion that recycled is the only environmentally friendly option is a common misconception; this is neither true nor a sustainable option. In fact, due to the recycling process shortening fibres in the paper each time it is recycled, paper can only be recycled between 5 and 7 times before it become useless.
Therefore, it is imperative to have some virgin fibres in the paper cycle. The paper industry needs a balance, otherwise there would be nothing to recycle!
In response to this, New Guardian and Plus Fabric envelopes are made with paper which has been awarded the EU Eco-label accreditation.
The EU Eco-label is an independent EU accreditation. Products displaying the EU Eco-Label use less energy, consume fewer natural resources (eg water and raw materials), have lower impact on air quality and ultimately contribute to ozone layer protection and environmental safety. In short, the environment is considered at every stage of the manufacturing process. The EU Eco-label paper is made from a mix of recycled and virgin fibres which are from sustainably managed forests.
